Dwell on whatever makes you feel good

When someone criticises you, or puts you down, when something goes wrong, or something happens that makes you feel bad, how long do you feel bad for? How long do thoughts of it go around and around in your head, whilst you are constantly feeling bad?

If you're anything like me and the rest of the world, then it can be hours if not days that these bad feeling thoughts are present in your mind, causing you to feel bad and attract more things that make you feel bad too.

So what can we do about it?


I have a great tip for you!

I don't suggest that you try to force yourself to let go of the bad feeling thought, that would be difficult, just like trying to stop yourself from thinking when you are meditating.

You know when someone gives you a compliment, or something goes well for you? How long do you hold onto those good feeling thoughts?

Chances are if you're anything like me and the rest of the world that these good feeling occasions are experienced for a very short time, seconds or maybe minutes and then let go of quickly.

How is it that we can let go of good feeling thoughts so easily, but we can't let go of bad feeling thoughts?

It's because bad feeling thoughts have a greater emotional impact on us.
We really don't like the feeling it gives us!

So how about reprogramming yourself?

Start this today:

Every time something happens that makes you feel good, whether it's a compliment, or you have some luck, something goes right for you, or you achieve something, stop whatever you are doing, don't move on from it straight away, bask in the good feeling. Start by doing this for 1 minute after every good thing that happens, feel it, think about it over and over, feel good.
Then as you get more and more used to dwelling on the good feeling thoughts, extend it to 2 minutes, then 5 minutes, then 10 or all day!

Soon enough you will reprogramme yourself to hold onto those good feeling thoughts and you know what else will happen?

It will become easy to let go of those bad feeling thoughts.

AND you'll stop attracting so many things that will make you feel bad too!
