The Queen of Cups has become one of my favourite tarot cards. She sits in the water, calm, connected, intuitive and deeply receptive. She isn't forcing. She isn't chasing. She isn't trying to hold everything together. She is receiving. And I think that's a lesson many women need right now. Because somewhere along the way, many of us learned that being a good woman meant giving. Give your time. Give your energy. Give your attention. Give your love. Give your resources. And so we became extraordinary givers. But many of us never learned how to receive. We feel guilty receiving help. We feel uncomfortable receiving compliments. We undercharge for our gifts. We refuse support when we need it. We tell everyone else to take care of themselves while quietly running on empty. We have become so focused on pouring from our cup that we have forgotten to fill it. The old saying is true: You can't pour from an empty cup. But I think there is something even deeper. You cannot nurture, grow or multiply what was never received in the first place. And that is why receiving is sacred. The Sacred Receiver Many women secretly fear that receiving is selfish. But what if receiving isn't selfish at all? What if receiving is part of our purpose? What if women are sacred receivers? Not because we receive and keep everything for ourselves. And not because we receive and then feel obligated to give it all away. But because whatever we receive naturally becomes something more through us. When a woman receives love, she creates connection. When she receives support, she creates safety. When she receives guidance, she shares wisdom. When she receives resources, she builds community. When she receives abundance, she creates opportunity. Everything that enters her life is nurtured, expanded and transformed. Not because she owes anyone anything. Not because she has to earn her place. Not because she should feel guilty for receiving. Simply because this is what women naturally do. A seed receives nourishment and becomes a tree. The earth receives rain and produces abundance. A woman receives and creates life, connection, beauty, wisdom and community. Receiving is not selfish. Receiving is sacred. You Don't Have To Give Everything Away This is where many women accidentally turn receiving into another burden. The moment they hear that what they receive benefits others, they immediately create a new rule. "I must give everything away." No. That is not sacred receiving. That is martyrdom wearing spiritual clothing. You do not need to justify receiving. You do not need to apologise for abundance. You do not need to prove your worthiness. You do not need to immediately give away everything that comes to you. You are allowed to enjoy what you receive. You are allowed to be nourished by it. You are allowed to rest in it. You are allowed to let your own cup become full. And the beautiful thing is that when women are genuinely nourished, what overflows from them naturally blesses everyone around them anyway. Not from obligation. From overflow. The Universe Is Generous Recently I had a profound realisation. What if the universe is loving? What if it is generous? What if it is kind? What if it is abundant? What if it is miraculous? What if it is soft? What if it is easy? For many of us, that sounds almost impossible. We have spent so much of our lives preparing for struggle. Preparing for disappointment. Preparing for things to go wrong. We have evidence for hardship. Evidence for loss. Evidence for pain. But what if we stopped using that evidence as proof of how life must always be? What if we chose a different relationship with the universe? Not because difficult things never happen. But because we decide which energies we align ourselves with. We can turn towards love. We can turn towards generosity. We can turn towards support. We can turn towards abundance. We can turn towards ease. We can choose to expect kindness. We can choose to expect miracles. We can choose to believe that life is supporting us. The Queen of Cups Trusts the Water The Queen of Cups doesn't sit beside her cup wondering if there will ever be more. She sits beside the ocean. An endless source. She trusts the water. She trusts the flow. She trusts life itself. And perhaps that is the deeper invitation for all of us. To stop believing that everything good must be earned through struggle. To stop believing we have to carry everything alone. To stop blocking what is trying to come to us. To stop standing at the door of abundance saying: "No thank you. I haven't earned it yet." What if the universe has always been trying to support you? What if it has always been trying to love you? What if it has always been trying to give to you? And what if your only job is to become willing to receive? To be the conduit that you were born to be. A New Belief Imagine waking up each morning believing: The universe loves me. The universe is generous. The universe supports me. The universe has got me. And imagine pairing that with another truth: I am a sacred receiver. I can safely receive love. I can safely receive support. I can safely receive abundance. I can safely receive guidance. I do not need to prove my worth. I do not need to carry everything alone. I do not need to earn my place here. I can receive. And what I receive will naturally become something more. That is not selfish. That is sacred. 🩵 Reflection Question What would change in your life if you truly believed these two things? The universe has got me. And I am a sacred receiver.

Thanks for sharing such an important and timely message, Claire. I had a similar thought just this morning. I was lamenting that "nothing is working" when suddenly the thought arrived: "Everything is working in divine timing." It made me take a deep breath and brought me such peace. It's wonderful how flipping one's perspective can make such a difference.
