We are now halfway through the 9th Wave of the Mayan Calendar, which began
on March 9; the same amount of change is happening every few weeks as formerly took years. We are being moved through our soul lessons at warp drive. Consciousness and creation are quickening; the lag time between thought and manifestation is shortening. We’re getting nearly instant feedback, making it easier to see how we are the writers, producers, and directors of our reality. This dizzying evolutionary pace is tough on both our emotional and physical bodies. Huge waves of change make it imperative to stay centered and to remember that everything we need is right here, right now, inside of us. Let your feelings guide you, and stay in the present moment.
Ask “What am I wanting to learn from this?” Focus on what you can change. The full moon, which peaks on July 14 at 11:40 PM PDT at 23º Cancer-Capricorn, highlights the celestial call for quantum leaps encoded in the last three eclipses. The first two eclipses (June 1 and June 15) involved the archetypal energies of Gemini and Sagittarius, which exposed limited perceptions and perspectives; the third eclipse in Cancer (July 1) and this full moon in Cancer-Capricorn reveals the power of feelings and fears. Repressed emotions overflow the banks of our defenses during any full moon, and especially one occurring in the wake of three supercharged eclipses. Water receives, stores, and releases energy. It assumes the shape of its container.
What are we pouring ourselves into? What do we need to receive? What do we need to release?
What do we need to heal? Cancer represents the creation matrix, the cosmic womb from which all form is born. The word “matter“ comes from the Sanskrit root
mat, meaning “mother.” The first water sign, Cancer also represents the awareness of feelings and the ability to recognize them as indicators of what is healthy or harmful. As humanity’s evolutionary thrust moves from duality to unity, emotions and trauma that have been stored in the unconscious emerge for resolution. Continual changes in the Earth and the Sun’s magnetic fields, along with cosmic impulses from our galactic core and beyond, make it more important than ever to monitor our feelings, safely release stored emotions, and trust our intuition.
Capricorn is associated with structure and form, authority and responsibility. The Moon in Capricorn asks:
Are we fulfilling our dharma, our destiny, our mission? Are we manifesting our life purpose? Are we making a difference? This full moon highlights the difference between what we
are doing, what we think we
should be doing, and what we really
want to do be doing. It also signals that it is time for
"the return of our divine feminine power… we are being asked to step up and give this sacred feminine force a voice, to stop keeping her small and allow her, her rightful throne...Our job, for a couple more weeks, is to cauterize any remaining feminine wounds with the nurturing and loving energy of the divine mother in preparation to meet the masculine energies of fiery Leo at the end of the month where we will ve the opportunity to see just how far we've come in letting our hearts lead... We are stepping into unified consciousness which means that the masculine must now come-on-line to support the feminine… Tho the feminine (heart) remains at the seat of creation, the masculine puts those forces into play, which means that we are now coming to know, to understand the externalized power associated with the masculine principle as a balanced and supportive force for the divine feminine, not as the controller OF it. We are restoring the balance of Shakti/Shiva… when the two polarities meet in the middle (heart), divine love is restored and rebirth (ascension) happens.” (Lauren C. Gorgo; full message at http://consciousco-creationalcoaching.blogspot.com/2011/07/love-takes-lead-return-of-feminine.html) Venus in Cancer plays a very important role around this full moon, forming a cardinal grand cross with Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto. As the Goddess of Love and Beauty, Venus represents the power of the heart and the power of true partnership. Venus exactly squares Uranus at 5º Aries on July 7, opposes Pluto at 6º Capricorn on July 8, and squares Saturn at 11° Libra on July 13, challenging partnerships and alliances to be more freely defined, more equal, and more aligned with the soul intentions of all involved.
Be kind and be real. Nothing but the truth will do. Ceres, another important feminine archetype, enters Aries on July 11, just a few days before the peak of this Full Moon, and because of her station retrograde
on July 26 at 0°40' Aries, hovers at the beginning of the zodiac
until August 10. The first degree of the first sign of the zodiac, called the Aries Point, represents an important initiation. It marks the emergence of something entirely new and unfamiliar. As in the movie Avatar, we step into the unknown and watch as the ground appears under our feet, supported by invisible realms.
How can we do what we don’t know how to do? We have to feel our way, all the while listening to our intuition and the callings of our heart. We trust our hunches, pay attention to synchronicities, and honor recurring thoughts and dreams, no matter how illogical or outlandish. Ceres’ month-long concentration on the first degree of Aries, and the fact that Ceres spends most of 2011 in Pisces, further supports the rebalancing and integration of the masculine and feminine, which is so crucial for humanity’s survival and ascension.
This full moon highlights yet another important feminine archetype, Eris, which is at 23° Aries, closely square to both the Sun and Moon. First sighted in 2003, the year Mars made its closest approach to the Earth in more than 60,000 years, Eris (with its orbit of 556 years) more than doubled the boundaries of our solar system. In mythology, Eris is the sister of the Greek God of War, and the goddess who tossed the apple leading to the judgment of Paris. The name Eris was chosen in response to the upset generated in the astronomical community by its discovery, which catalyzed a redefinition of what constitutes a planet. Eris as the Greek Goddess of Conflict and Strife symbolizes the discord generated by attachments and addictions, as well as the creativity that can result from challenge and hardship. The cosmic imperative to evolve from competition to cooperation is further intensified by Eris' approaching retrograde station
on July 18.
July 13 begins the Mayan 4th night, which continues
until July 30. In Mayan cosmology, nights represent the integration and application of what was acquired during the previous day (June 25 to July 12);
they also symbolize accelerated periods of releasing whatever is not in alignment with our soul purpose and evolution. For more on the Mayan calendar, visit

All this reminds us that we are in the midst of a collective spiritual initiation:
“If the initiation holds, we never go back to the old forms or the old reality; we are now incapable of doing so. We have been reconstituted so that we can live now in this different universe, our entire system attuned to a different set of laws.” (Deena Metzger) Stay centered in your core; visualize your connection to the center of the Earth and the center of the Milky Way galaxy. Ask for support and pray for guidance.
Spend some time outside in nature daily. The faster the pace of life, the more necessary it becomes to slow down and tune in. Be in Love, peace, and gratitude, for we are birthing a new paradigm and a new world.
